UET Lahore Alumni Arranged Centennial Celebrations in Islamabad

The UET alumni arranged a function to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their alma mater at Tulip Marque in Islamabad. Around 400 alumni of the university attended the event. The Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar was the chief guest. Chairman of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and PTI MNA from Karachi, Mr. Najeeb Haroon was the guest of honor. Other notable alumni present in the function were former Minister of Planning and former Deputy Chairman Pakistan Planning Commission, Dr. Muhammad Akram Sheikh, and former Chairmen PEMRA Mian Javed and Kamal Uddin Tipu. The event was fully sponsored by Engr. Azhar ul Islam Zafar, a graduate of the 89-Civil Engineering batch of the university and an elected member of PEC.

The Vice-Chancellor the organizers and briefed the audience about UET’s progress in academics, including its continuously improving world and Asian rankings. He also informed the participants about the tuition-free Ph.D. offered by the university as well as its policy to not let go of any student admitted on merit due to a proven case of financial hardship. He thanked all those who have contributed to the university’s fund for the needy students.
