The last date for registration of UET Entrance Test, for admission in four years undergraduate programs across Punjab, is December 9, 2024. Students will buy online tokens on payment of Rs 2,500 for Non ECAT programs, and Rs 5,000 for joint registration in both ECAT and Non ECAT programs. Students can get online tokens by visiting the admission portal (admission.uet.edu.pk), where all the information related to admissions is available.
The entrance test of will be held on December 21 and 22, 2024. Students will be able to print their admit cards till December 11, and the results of the entrance test will be announced on December 23, 2024. The interviews of successful candidates in ECAT will be held from December 30, 2024 to January 3, 2025. Interview slips of students registered in Non ECAT programs will be released on December 23, 2024. While the first merit list will be available on january 10, 2025 on the admission portal.
The UET Lahore campus will have after-noon classes in four-year programmes including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, Data Science, Computer Science, Robotics and Intelligence Systems, Applied Computing, Information Systems Technology and Gaming & Animation. Students must be successful in ECAT to get admission to these programs.
Similarly, four-year programs of Software Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Systems Technology at UET New Campus Kala Shah Kaku will have morning classes for successful students in ECAT. While morning classes will be provided for successful candidates in Computer Science and Computer Engineering programs in UET Faisalabad, Rachna and Narowal campuses. Non ECAT programs include programs such as Interior Design, BBIT, BBA and Biomedical Sciences.
The University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, hosted an Alumni Reunion event attended by Federal Minister for Planning Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal, Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Engr. Waseem Nazir, and hundreds of engineers. The event showcased the university’s achievements under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir, who welcomed the attendees with an inspiring address.
In his keynote speech, Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the critical role of engineers, play in Pakistan’s development. He highlighted the nation’s ambition to rank among the world’s top 10 economies by 2047. Reflecting on his student days at UET, he shared valuable experiences that shaped his journey into politics, inspiring young attendees to adopt a mindset of critical thinking and long-term planning.
Addressing the challenges faced by Pakistan, the Federal Minister noted, “Nations marked by instability and protests, lacking consistent policies, cannot achieve sustainable development. It is crucial to maintain focus on progress and stability to move forward.”
Ahsan Iqbal is also hopeful about Pakistan’s future, stating, “Pakistan is ready to make progress. Inflation has been reduced to 4%, and we must position Pakistan as a technology-driven economy on the global stage.”
He pledged support for strengthening UET as an institutions nationwide and praised the faculty and administration of UET Lahore for their accomplishments. The Minister further stressed the importance of presenting a positive image of Pakistan globally, saying, “Political differences exist in every country, but tarnishing the nation’s reputation abroad is a disservice. We must work together to build a prosperous future.”
The event brought together vice chancellors from various universities, heads of leading companies, and a large number of engineers, creating a vibrant platform to celebrate UET’s legacy and its contribution to national development.
