Naval Headquarters and UET gather for Strategic Meeting on Artificial Intelligence Collaboration at Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science, Lahore

A significant collaborative meeting was held at the Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, focusing on exploring future Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects. The meeting was attended by senior officers from all three branches of the Armed Forces, alongside lab managers and researchers from KICS. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, Vice Chancellor of UET Lahore, who highlighted UET’s extensive work and ongoing contributions across various fields of engineering and technology. Under his leadership, the discussion centered on leveraging AI to drive innovative solutions with potential applications.

Officers representing the Navy, Army, and Air Force participated actively, demonstrating the tri-services’ commitment to integrating cutting-edge technological advancements into their operational frameworks. The presence of Naval Headquarters signaled the Navy’s keen interest in collaborating with academic institutions to harness AI for strategic advantages. During the meeting, managers from all research labs at KICS delivered comprehensive presentations outlining their current research projects.

These presentations showcased the institute’s expertise and breakthroughs in AI-related domains, including machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics. The discussions paved the way for identifying areas of mutual interest, potential joint ventures, and the formulation of actionable strategies to develop AI-driven projects. Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir emphasized the critical role of academia-industry-government partnerships in accelerating technological progress.

He reiterated UET’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting national priorities through collaborative research initiatives.
