The Department of Chemistry successfully hosted a Nutrition Camp in collaboration with the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Aga Khan University on October 7, 2025. The camp, specifically designed for women, witnessed an overwhelming response, with hundreds of students participating in comprehensive nutritional assessments and health check-ups.
The health screening included Complete Blood Count (CBC) tests, anthropometric measurements, blood pressure monitoring, dietary assessments, body density scan and composition analysis. Notably, the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Farhat Yasmeen, along with faculty members, actively participated in the camp, setting an exemplary precedent.
A significant aspect of the camp was the launch of a research study focusing on the relationship between nutritional profiles and fertility rates in young women aged 18-25, aiming to gather valuable insights for improving long-term health outcomes.
The camp provided students with personalized guidance on maintaining optimal body nutrients and overall health. Participants found the interactive sessions engaging and informative, gaining valuable insights into their nutritional well-being.The Chemistry department initiative aimed to promote health awareness and foster a culture of wellness among students.
