Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, visited the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, where he was warmly received by Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir. During the visit, the Federal Minister thoroughly reviewed the ongoing development projects at UET and its sub-campuses. He inspected the construction work underway at the university’s hostels, academic buildings, and other infrastructure, and granted approval for several new initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Iqbal stated, “UET will be developed into Pakistan’s premier research center, equipped with centers of excellence and high-quality, modern laboratories, so that its graduates can continue to bring pride to the nation on a global level.” He further emphasized the global importance of engineering education and the pivotal role engineers play in the development and progress of any country. Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir remarked,
“The Minister’s visit is an honor for us. Ahsan Iqbal has always shown a special interest in the development of UET. We are hopeful that the university’s budget will be increased this year, enabling us to materialize the planned welfare and development projects.” Campus Coordinator UET Narowal Dr. Shahbaz, PRO Dr. Tanveer Qasim, and Project Director Narowal Sarmad Riaz were also present at this occasion. However, Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, HEC Member Mr. Naveed Shah, and Vice Chancellor of University of Narowal Dr. Muhammad Younas participated via video link. At the end, Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir thanked the Federal Minister for his visit and appreciated his ongoing efforts.
