Panel discussion on challenges faced by engineering education in the path of development was organized by PEC

Vice Chancellor UET Dr. Shahid Munir participated as a panelist, discussed the problems of downfall in engineering education and future agenda. Experts emphasize training and guidance of Pakistani engineers.

November 1, 2024 An important panel discussion was organized by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Lahore to discuss the problems facing engineering education in the country and their potential solutions. Renowned academicians and Vice Chancellor UET Lahore were present in the event. Dr. Shahid Munir, participated as a panelist.

Panel discussion was chaired by Chairman PEC Engineer Wasim Nazir while Vice Chairman Engineer Prof. Dr. Sohail Aftab Qureshi, Dean Electrical, Energy and Environment Jamia Punjab Dr. Hamid Sattar, Member Governing Body PEC Dr. Khurram Panel, Director Punjab Higher Education Commission Dr. Tanveer Qasim, Dr. Ali Sajid and experts from the engineering department also participated. The purpose of the discussion was to prepare a plan of action to tackle these challenges in the future. Chairman PEC Engineer Wasim Nazir said, “We will foster the creativity and new ideas of Pakistani engineers to further improve their role in the development of the country.” Vice Chancellor UET Dr. Shahid Munir stressed the importance of engineering education as Head of Pakistan’s oldest engineering institute and as an expert and discussed the need to formulate policies to resolve related problems.

He Effective and comprehensive strategies are essential to improve engineering education and overcome the challenges it entails, so that young engineers can contribute positively to the development of the country. He said engineers need advanced technical skills and creative thinking Training is a must, which can help in achieving national building and development goals. Other members of the panel stressed the need for joint efforts to overcome rising trends of recession in the engineering education sector. All the experts present in the panel discussion discussed the importance of policy formulation and collaboration for the betterment of the engineering sector in Pakistan. Emphasized.
