The Teaching Staff Association (TSA) at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore proudly celebrated Teachers’ Day with a special ceremony attended by esteemed faculty and administration. The event featured Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir as the chief guest, who TSA leaders warmly welcomed.
During his address, Dr. Munir emphasized the crucial role teachers play in society, stating, “We must respect our teachers, and in turn, teachers should uphold their responsibilities. A successful society cannot thrive without dedicated teachers.” He reiterated that the welfare of faculty members would remain a top priority during his leadership.
Dr. Munir also shared encouraging news regarding promotions, announcing that a selection board will soon convene for those teachers awaiting promotions. Furthermore, he assured attendees that a long-awaited 25% allowance, which had been deferred due to financial constraints, would be reinstated for all employees and teachers once the university’s financial situation improves.
The ceremony was attended by Deans of all faculties, Head of departments, Teachers, TSA President Dr. Amjad Hussain, General Secretary Dr. Asif Rafiq, and Director PHEC Dr. Tanveer Qasim, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the educational environment at UET Lahore.
As UET Lahore moves forward under Dr. Munir’s guidance, the TSA is optimistic about continued growth and improvements for the teaching community.
