UET Lahore Welcomes Session 2025 Students with Grand Orientation Ceremony

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore organized an orientation ceremony in honor of the newly admitted students of Session 2025. The event, held under the special directives of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (TI), aimed to introduce new entrants to their respective departments, university rules and regulations, administrative offices, and the facilities available to them on campus.

Following the completion of the Fall 2025 admissions process, regular classes across different departments have already commenced this week. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, addressing the ceremony, said that talented and hardworking students are the true assets of the nation. Providing them with the best opportunities for education and research, he emphasized, is the foremost responsibility of all academic and administrative units of the university.

He added that Pakistan’s bright future is tied to the intelligence, competence, and practical abilities of its youth. Prof. Dr. Munir also outlined his vision to make UET a hub of student activities while promoting excellence in teaching and training. He announced reforms for modernizing academics and governance, including the introduction of new subjects aligned with contemporary global demands, strengthening academia-industry linkages, enhancing students’ practical skills, and upgrading the university’s infrastructure. Highlighting recent achievements, the Vice Chancellor shared that the Federal Government has approved a development grant of Rs. 3.5 billion for UET Lahore.

He also welcomed the Chief Minister of Punjab’s decision to declare UET as a model university. “UET is rapidly moving towards growth and stability,” he said, adding that the record admissions this year are a clear reflection of the trust parents place in the institution. He reaffirmed that UET holds a distinguished position globally and continues to rise as a leading center of knowledge.

The reception was attended by deans, chairpersons, faculty members, and a large number of students, who warmly welcomed the newcomers. As part of the orientation, student societies, in collaboration with the Student Services Center, guided the new entrants through various academic and administrative units, familiarizing them with the university’s academic traditions and cultural values.
