MOU between UET, Lahore and Velosi Inegrity & Safety Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd

The University of Engineering & Technology, (UET) Lahore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Velosi Integrity & Safety Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. The company has head office in UAE (Abu Dhabi) that have its operational offices in Pakistan and more than 86 countries worldwide. The company offers a full range of specialized consultancy services of asset integrity management, vendor inspection, third party inspection, certification, testing, HSE consultancy, engineering services, software development and manpower recruitment services for the oil and gas industry, mining, and energy industries.

The MOU was formally signed today by Professor Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Vice Chancellor, University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore and Ms. Samina Wasim, General Manager, Velosi Integrity & Safety Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.  Professor Dr. Naveed Ramzan, Dean Faulty of Dean Chemical, Metallurgical & Polymer, Dr. Muhammad Shafique, Director External Linkages and Muhammad Suleman Chugtai, Manager Business Development of Velosi (Pvt) were among other who participated in the ceremony. Main emphasis of the MOU was on internships support program, job placement of the university graduates, support for faculty development, academic information sharing, and conduct of research conferences, seminar and workshops

Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Vice Chancellor UET Lahore designated Prof. Dr. Naveed Ramzan, Dean Chemical, Metallurgical & Polymer for coordination, whereas, Velosi designated Muhammad Suleman Chughtai (Manager Business Development) for the same. On this occasion it was also acknowledged that the gap between academia and industry needs to be bridged up by mutual efforts and areas of business opportunities needs to be worked out especially with university spin off companies.
