1st UET Seminar on Membrane Cleaning Technologies MCT-2022

Lahore ( ) Polymer and Process Engineering U.E.T Lahore and Pakistan Membrane society (PMS) jointly organized 1st U.E.T seminar on Membrane Cleaning Technologies MCT-2022 & 2nd Pakistan Congress on Membranes and Membranes separation processes PCOM 2022. The congress was held on 24 October 2022 at chemical seminar hall, U.E.T Lahore to provide a platform to students, researchers, professionals, and industrialists, for a healthy discussion on emerging and promising separation technology to shape the future of water desalination, air pollution control, industrial organic solvent separation and fuel cell technology in Pakistan. All the membrane material and membrane process research groups from various renowned institutions working across the country participated in the congress with their projects and ideas to discuss the innovations in various membrane applications. His excellency Vice chancellor of Host institution; Prof. Dr. Mansoor Sarwar highly encouraged this Pakistan Membrane congress…… At opening ceremony of PCOM 2022 Mr. Kashif Anwar president Lahore chamber of commerce & industry LCCI and Engr. Almas Hyder president engineering development board EDB, Pakistan shared their interest in membrane technology applications in Pakistan by encouraging the fresh and talented engineers from respective fields. Engr. Almas Hyder graced the event with his motivating personality and shows a keen interest in indigenous membrane technology development for wastewater treatment by utilizing the local resources and workforce. Engr. Malik Saleem Ullah Saeed C.O.O of water engineering and management services graced this event with his extended presentation on Membranes Applications in Pakistan: An overview of water purification technologies. He appreciated the dedication of students and their advisors; he also shows his motivation towards membrane processes development by emphasizing on industry academia linkages. Mr. saeed also shared his plan for students internships in water and wastewater treatment technology through the banner of WEMS. Congress proceeded with the talks on Membrane Applications by leading national researchers and a guest speaker Dr. Ming Xie from University of Bath, Uk.

Students from host and guests’ institutions paid regards to director student affairs U.E.T Lahore Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser for organizing this successful event and providing them a platform to showcase their projects on membrane research.
